Samar Hayat is the Chief Executive, at Lucky Core Industries Limited.
Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Tapal Tea (Pvt.) Ltd, for over 7 years. Under his leadership, Tapal Tea delivered remarkable revenue and profit growth leapfrogging ahead of local and international competition and solidifying its position as Pakistan’s largest tea company. Samar steered the company to these strong results despite the most challenging external conditions by exhibiting transformative strategic leadership, relentless focus on operational excellence, and capability-building across commercial execution, supply chain resilience, and organisational development.
Samar also brings with him over two decades of diversified global experience gained during his career with Procter & Gamble (P&G) across multiple geographies including Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Gulf markets and Africa. Throughout his P&G tenure, Samar developed deep expertise in cross-functional leadership, contributing to brand growth and market share expansion across competitive markets. He has also served on the Board of Gillette Pakistan Limited as a Non-Executive Director, a listed affiliate of P&G’s local operations.
Samar holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Lahore University of Management and Sciences (LUMS), and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Kentucky.

Rizwan Afzal Chaudhry is the Chief Operating Officer of the Polyester Business. With expertise across both technical and commercial domains, his career spans 27 years and is marked by robust leadership and strategic management.
He commenced his journey with Lucky Core Industries Limited in 1996, within the Polyester Technical Department. Since then, he has navigated through roles across multiple businesses of the Company, including National Sales Manager, Marketing and Technical Manager, Business Manager, Commercial Manager, and Vice President Commercial. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered value to stakeholders.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Rizwan has represented Pakistan’s Polyester Fibre Industry on the global stage. Moreover, he has regularly presented at international forums such as the Asian Chemical Fibres Industries Federation (ACFIF), and the China International Man-made fibres Conference (CIMFC).
Rizwan holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Textile Technology from the University of Bolton, England, and an Executive MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His academic accolades include a prestigious Gold medal and placement on the Dean’s honour list.
Director / Chief Financial Officer
Atif Aboobukar is the Chief Financial Officer. Since joining in 2015, Atif has played a pivotal role in transforming the Corporate Finance function at Lucky Core Industries.
Atif’s corporate career spans over 15 years, with expertise in all areas of Finance including Management Reporting, Budgeting, Risk Management, Treasury and Taxation. Prior to joining Lucky Core Industries, Atif was CFO at S. C Johnson & Sons of Pakistan (Private) Limited and has held multiple positions at Engro Corp.
Atif is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Nauman Shahid Afzal is the Chief Operating Officer of Chemicals & Agri Sciences Business, with over 29 years of strong leadership and strategic management experience in commercial and manufacturing areas. He joined Lucky Core Industries as the Chief Operating Officer of the Polyester Business in 2019. Under his leadership, the business delivered record top and bottom-line results and launched innovative new products like the first traceable, recycled staple fibre in Pakistan.
Nauman’s career trajectory commenced with Procter & Gamble Pakistan, where he honed his skills in manufacturing and ascended through various senior supply chain and customer service roles over a 14-year tenure. His professional journey took him across diverse geographies including Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Romania, enriching his global perspective.
In 2008, Nauman made a move to Reckitt Benckiser in Dubai, assuming the role of Regional Supply Chain Director. Here, he oversaw the supply operations for over 26 countries in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. Transitioning to British American Tobacco in 2013, he served as the Head of Manufacturing and later assumed the responsibility as Area Head of Supply Chain Services.
Nauman’s versatility extended to TCS, where he took on the role of Country Head for their Corporate Business, managing the complete P&L for a diverse portfolio of key accounts and SMEs. This role positioned him at the forefront of the largest logistics company in Pakistan.
Nauman holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California – Los Angeles, USA and a Bachelor’s Degree from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London.

Wasim Ahmad Qureshi is the Vice President Operations at Lucky Core Industries (LCI). He began his career in the corporate sector with the Company in 2000, bringing over 26 years of experience across senior manufacturing and leadership roles.
A seasoned operations leader with progressive experience in chemical and fibre manufacturing, Wasim covers end-to-end plant operations, manufacturing strategy, and technology stewardship, along with strong involvement in production management, plant leadership, project commissioning, and R&D collaboration.
At the executive level, Wasim works closely with commercial, supply chain, and technology teams to balance customer service, profitability, and long-term capability building. He is recognised for leading high-performing teams, improving productivity and asset utilisation, and embedding a strong culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
He holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from University of the Punjab and an Executive MBA.
